The winner normally receives a modelling contract, cosmetics campaign, and a spread within a fashion magazine which also includes appearing on the front cover. Other benefits which can change from cycle to cycle include a car, holiday, money, or an apartment among other things. As part of the Top Model franchise, it is based on the American television series America's Next Top Model. From series 7 onwards, the show has been renamed Britain and Ireland's Next Top Model as it has begun to include contestants from Ireland.

Starring Bruce Willis and Cybill Shepherd as private detectives, the show was a mixture of drama, comedy, and romance, and was considered to be one of the first successful and influential examples of comedy-drama, or "dramedy", emerging as a distinct television genre. The show's theme song was performed by jazz singer Al Jarreau and became a hit. The show is also credited with making Willis a star, while providing Shepherd with a critical success after a string of lackluster projects. Australia's Next Top Model is an Australian reality television series, based on a franchise that was created by Tyra Banks with America's Next Top Model. It is produced by Granada Productions and broadcast on the Australian subscription television channel, FOX8. The series' objective is to find a promising but as-yet undiscovered Australian fashion Model and reward her with a platform to boost her chances of forging a successful career within the modelling industry. The series was last formerly hosted by Australian model Sarah Murdoch, who also served as lead judge and co-executive producer of the show for cycles five to seven. Jodhi Meares and Erika Heynatz also served as former hosts. An eighth cycle was confirmed for production and broadcast during 2013. Producers had to find a replacement host before production re-commenced. In April 2012 it was announced that the series would take a break for 2012 due to the fact that producers of the show were having trouble finding a replacement for Sarah Murdoch. It was announced on 19 November 2012 that beauty queen, model, and television personality Jennifer Hawkins was chosen as the new host for the ongoing eighth cycle.

Zostań modelką is an ongoing reality documentary based on Tyra Banks' America's Next Top Model that pits contestants from Poland against each other in a variety of competitions to determine who will win the title of the next Polish Top Model and a lucrative modeling contract with NEXT agency as well as an appearance on the cover of the Polish issue of Glamour and a nationwide Max Factor campaign in hopes of a successful future in the modeling business. The competition is hosted by Polish born supermodel Joanna Krupa who serves as the lead judge alongside fashion designer Dawid Woliński, journalist Karolina Korwin-Piotrowska and photographer Marcin Tyszka. It has also been confirmed that international topmodels Anja Rubik and Magdalena Mielcarz will make guest appearances and coaching the contestants in some episodes.
Asia's Next Top Model is a reality television show of Top Model Franchise, in which a number of women compete for the title of Asia's Next Top Model and a chance to start their career in the modeling industry. The show will feature aspiring models from the entire Far East region, including South Asia subcontinent. The show was initially set to launch in mid-2012 on Ice-TV, after a deal was arranged with CBS for a Pan-Asian version. The casting process began in March 28, 2012 and was scheduled to end on May 5 of the same year. Later, the deadline was extended to May 21. The show was produced in Singapore. On April 11, it was publicly revealed that Nadya Hutagalung would take on the role of Head Judge and Host of the series. Fashion Director, Daniel Boey, Fashion Photographer, Todd Anthony Tyler, and model, Joey Mead King took secondary roles as judges. Around early October, STAR World and Channel 8 introduced the 14 finalists for season one, from 13 countries in South, Southeast and East Asia. The show was initially scheduled to premiere on November 4, 2012. However, the global premiere on STAR World was pushed back to November 25 due to monetary problems. The winner of the first cycle was 27 year old Jessica Amornkuldilok from Thailand.

The Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Model Search is a reality TV show produced by NBC that debuted in January 2005, prior to the launch of that year's Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue. The purpose of the show was to document twelve previously unknown fashion models as they competed against one another for a grand prize. In this case, it was a pictorial in the 2005 edition of the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue and a modeling contract with NEXT Model Management worth one million US dollars. The twelve contestants were chosen after NBC and Sports Illustrated launched a nation-wide search, processing around 3,000 potential women. The three-judge panel consisted of Roshumba Williams, Joel Wilkenfeld and Jule Campbell. Competitions would include how well the contestants did on their photo shoots and their rigorous fitness tests. Based on these, the aforementioned judges would choose who "made the cut" and who would be let go from the competition, until there were two finalists. The show's tagline was "The business of being beautiful is about to get ugly."

Norway's Next Top Model is a Norwegian reality television show based on the original American version, airing on TV3. The first cycle aired in 2006, after part years of participating in Scandinavia's Next Top Model along with Sweden and Denmark. The prize was a model contract with Trump Model Management, a campaign with cosmetic brand Make Up Store, and a cover of the Norwegian magazine Woman. The show was hosted by Kathrine Sørland. The three coaches are model coach Herve Bernard, runway coach J. Alexander and posing coach Mariana Verkerk. After three Cycles of being part of the Scandinavian co-production Norway had its first individual Cycle in September 2006 featuring 12 girls. The winner was Maria Eilertsen from Stavanger. Cycle 5 premiered on 3 September 2007. It was hosted by Vendela Kirsebom, who was also hosting Sweden's Next Top Model at the same time. Starting with 13 girls, ranging between the ages of 16 - 27, the second cycle was won by Kamilla Alnes from Ålesund. With Martina Lervik, another girl from Ålesund also won the sixth Cycle which was running from September to December 2008. In Early 2010 castings for a new Cycle were announced. The age limit of the girls has been set down to 14. The seventh Cycle was taped in summer 2010 but did not went on air before February 7, 2011. Kirsebom was replaced by former Miss Universe Mona Grudt making her the third host of Top Model Norge.
