Kaizoku Sentai Gokaiger is the title of Toei Company's 35th entry in its long-running Super Sentai Series of Japanese tokusatsu television series following Tensou Sentai Goseiger. It premiered on TV Asahi on February 13, 2011, joining Kamen Rider OOO and then Kamen Rider Fourze as a program featured in TV Asahi's Super Hero Time programming block. The catchphrase for the series is "Let's make it showy!". Gokaiger is a special anniversary series. Its protagonists are able to transform into not only their own unique forms, but also all of the previous 34 Super Sentai teams, each of which have their own unique power that the Gokaigers can access. The series also features reappearances of actors reprising their characters from the previous series. On July 30, 2010, Toei applied for trademarks on the title Kaizoku Sentai Gōkaijā to be used on various products. The Japan Patent Office approved these trademarks on August 26, 2010. During the Super Sentai VS Theater programming on December 26, 2010, the series was officially announced in a commercial. A Tokyo Dome City event for the premiere, serving as the introduction of the cast and theme song singers to the public, held on January 29 and 30, 2011.

Mad Jack the Pirate is a short lived 1990s cartoon. The show was created by Bill Kopp and was directed by Jeff DeGrandis. On American television, the show was broadcast on Fox Kids. The concept is of the adventures of the rather unsuccessful and cowardly Pirate Jack who despite his failures never doubts his own excellence and his dim-witted anthropomorphic rat sidekick Snuk as they sail the seas on their ship the Sea Chicken. Often noticed by fans and viewers of the show is its similarity to the BBC comedy series Blackadder. Similarities of the main characters: Jack to Edmund Blackadder and Snuk to Baldrick and even almost identical quotes from the series. Even Jack's archenemy Flash is not unlike Lord Flashheart and Angus is similar to McAngus. Currently, in some countries, the cartoon has DVD & VCD Editions. Also in Turkey, the cartoon was shown on Jetix Play and in Poland on Fox Kids. On July 23, 2001, Mad Jack and other properties of Saban Entertainment were sold to The Walt Disney Company.

The show premiered on Thursday, May 31, 2007. The show also aired on CTV in Canada, Sky3 in the UK, premiered on June 21, 2007 on Network Ten in Australia, and premiered on July 4, 2007 on AXN Asia. On July 10 in the US, the show moved to Tuesdays at 10 p.m.. In its Tuesday run, it would follow the 9 p.m. broadcast of Big Brother 8. As of July 24, in the US, Pirate Master was only online on CBS.com's Innertube, with a new episode presented each week on Tuesday morning.

Space Pirate Mito alternatively called Stellar Buster Mito, is an anime series from 1999. It was produced in two seasons at 13 episodes each. Director was Takashi Watanabe, and the series was animated at the studio Triangle Staff. Furthermore there was a theatrical production of the series, during the year 2000. The first series of the farcical sci-fi title mainly revolves around the small space pirate Mito and her fights with and flights from the galactic police force, as well as her relationship with her half-human Earthling son Aoi, initially largely ignorant of his mother's spacefaring life. The first series ends with Aoi, having become a girl due to a biological quirk of Mito's species, crowned queen of the galaxy as a result of Mito's campaigns, and the second focuses on her and the pirates, now court soldiers, facing the challenges that come with her new office. Both series have been released on DVD in the United States.

The Mersey Pirate was a British childrens television programme that was shown in 1979. Based aboard a ship anchored at Liverpool Docks in the River Mersey, it was produced by Granada Television and was introduced to fill the Saturday morning summer break taken by Tiswas. The programme's presenters were Duggie Brown, Frank Carson, Bernard Wrigley and Billy Butler. Actors Andrew Schofield and Ray Kingsley, who would later work together on the television series Scully, played stowaways. Various guests appeared on the series including The Dooleys, Bad Manners, The Undertones, and Star Wars star David Prowse. Most ITV regions showed the programme, though several did not. The show had been due to run throughout the summer of 1979, but its run was cut short due to the ITV network strike that ran from August to October that year. The following year another Granada production, Fun Factory, took the Summer Saturday morning slot.
