Karan (Alok Nath) lives in a small house with his only daughter, Suman (Bhagyashree). He decides to travel overseas in Dubai, in the Persian Gulf, so that he can accumulate enough wealth to get his daughter married. He decides to leave his daughter with his friend, Kishen Kumar choudhury (Rajiv Verma), wife Mrs. Kaushalya (Reema Lagoo), and son Prem (Salman Khan). Prem is supposed to marry Seema (Pervin Dastur), who is the only daughter of Kishen's business partner, Ranjeet (Ajit Vachani). But Prem falls in love with Suman. He woos her until she also falls in love with him. Kaushalya approves of Suman, but Kishan does not, and asks her to get out of his house and life, as he feels that she has taken advantage of his hospitality. Karan returns and is enraged at Kishan's behaviour. Prem is unhappy with his dad's decision, and he decides to leave home and be near Suman.

Raj is a struggling singer with big dreams, who is still waiting for his big break. One night he witnesses an accident near the railway tracks. The car spins out of control, and lands on the tracks of an on-coming train. Raj runs over to the wreakage, notices that the occupant, in Hindu marrige attire, is still breathing, and pulls her out just in time. Raj takes her to the hospital, and the girl's family are informed. The girl, Pooja Oberoi, survives, but is in a vigil coma, a condition whereby she can hear and see everything, but will not be speak nor move any part of her body. The Oberoi family is grateful to Raj, and are led to believe that he is Pooja's groom, Romi. Raj is reluctant to accept this, but then he changes his mind and accepts being the groom, as he has an agenda of his own, and takes advantage of this accident to further his goals, until he meets Jahnvi, and falls in love with her, not knowing that this decision will change his life forever.

Will Aarti be honest enough to tell Sunil about her past - or will she just refuse to marry him.
Anuradha is an orphan who has found a mentor in kind-hearted Mahesh Kumar Gupta. She decides to re-locate to the city and be close to him in Bombay. After a few misadventures, and being rescued by a gallant Kishore, she settles down with Gupta, who would like her to marry his son, Raj Kumar. Then Raj brings home a beautiful young woman named Usha, who he has fallen in love with and got married to. After a few temper tantrums, Gupta does accept Usha as his daughter-in-law. What Gupta does not know is that Usha has married Raj to inherit his vast wealth and estate and be close to her lover, Prem Kishen, who also has an on-going affair with Anuradha. Things get really complicated when Prem is killed, and Anuradha is arrested by the police for killing him.

Dr. Anand practices under Dr. Rehman, who testified for him during a criminal trial for malpractice which resulted in the death of the husband of Rani Sahiba (Moon Moon Sen). Soni has fallen in love with Dr. Anand, but Dr. Anand has strong reservations against her, due to her background.
