Two children raised by single parents want to enjoy the happiness of a complete family. To achieve this, they try to unite their parents, but end up in trouble.
Businessman Bhaskaran Pillai builds a large commercial empire until his wife dies. Under pressure from his son, Bhaskaran goes on a trip where he meets Hima, a small-business owner.
Bhaskaran is a happy-go-lucky guy, who is yet to complete his B.A. degree, writing arrear examinations annually for years. His only friend is Nallathambi who owns a barber saloon, which he received as a dowry for marrying a two-month pregnant woman. He lives with his mother, Sivakami, brother Saravanan who is a successful veterinarian and sister, Nithya. When his brother marries Nandhini, he gets to meet Nandhini's younger sister Chandrika and wishes to marry her. When he approaches his family for a chance, everyone talks very frankly of his unemployed status which rankles him and he leaves his house to prove himself. With the support of Nallathambi, he establishes a tutorial for Class 10 students and despite early setbacks makes it work, while also convincing Chandrika, who eventually reciprocates his love. However despite all this, Chandrika's father is against her marriage with Bhaskaran for a reason which is revealed in the end.
The story revolves around a young man, Arya, who is always ready to help others while neglecting his own life and career. His life takes a turn when he meets a girl and falls in love.
Bhaskar Bharti is a daily show that aired on Sony Entertainment Television from Mondays to Thursdays. It premiered on May 25, 2009 and stars Eijaz Khan, Ragini Khanna, Anchal Sabharwal, Aamir Ali, Jai Kalra and Vivek Mushran in the lead roles. Prior to its launch, it was believed that Bhaskar Bharti was a TV adaptation of the 2005 Hindi film Mr Ya Miss. However, that was not the case, as it is actually a Hindi adaptation of the popular Argentine comedy show Lalola in which a man turns into a woman as a result of being cursed by one of his love interests.
India with Sanjeev Bhaskar is a four-part documentary from the BBC in which Sanjeev Bhaskar travels to India with director Deep Sehgal. The documentary was created as part of the BBC's series of programmes on the 60th anniversary of the independence of India and Pakistan. The series was broadcast between 30 July and 20 August 2007.
