The show was cancelled in July 2008 after experiencing audience erosion and controversy. All eight seasons were produced by Endemol Southern Star and shown on Network Ten. The show returned 13 August 2012 with a ninth season on the Nine Network with repeats on GO!. From its first season until its seventh season in 2007 the show was hosted by Gretel Killeen. With a revamp of the series in 2008 she was replaced by radio duo Kyle Sandilands and Jackie O. The show returned in 2012 hosted by Sonia Kruger. Mike Goldman narrated all nine seasons of the series. Between 2001 and 2005 it was also shown in New Zealand on TV2 and Prime. The purpose built Big Brother house for the 2001 through to the 2012 seasons was in a compound at theme park Dreamworld, Queensland. Big Brother Australia was officially renewed for a tenth season on 24 November 2012.

The series was picked up using a similar model as Tyler Perry's House of Payne and Meet The Browns with an initial 10 episode order by Comedy Central, with an option to pick up the series for an additional 90 episodes, to have 100 episodes available for syndication. The deal was not picked up after Comedy Central passed on a second season.
Big Day, originally titled A Day in the Life, is an American situation comedy that first aired on ABC from November 28, 2006 to January 30, 2007. The series was co-produced by Josh Goldsmith and Cathy Yuspa and directed by Michael Spiller for Sony Pictures Television. In Canada, the series aired on CanWest's Global and CH stations. Originally, it was supposed to debut on October 5, 2006, along with Notes from the Underbelly, but ABC made a last-minute change in its schedule by moving Ugly Betty to Thursday, thus replacing both sitcoms whose "buzz" was not especially promising. Big Day was broadcast on Tuesdays at 9:00/8:00c. The timeslot was to be filled by another new sitcom that had a better "buzz," The Knights of Prosperity, but ABC moved that program to Wednesdays to make Big Day a priority. According to the ratings, Big Day turned out to be a ratings disappointment. When Big Day ended its first season on January 30, 2007, only 12 of the 13 produced episodes aired leaving the 13th episode, titled The $10,000 Check, unaired. On May 15, 2007, ABC officially cancelled the show after the network announced their 2007-2008 fall schedule. A film based on the show was cancelled twice in development from 2007 to 2008. In 2010, a re-version of the movie adaptation is currently in Pre-Production.

Although 13 episodes were commissioned, only 8 aired before CBS canceled the show and replaced it with the newsmagazine 48 Hours in the 10pm Thursday time slot. In 2008, the series aired in syndication on Universal HD.
Debate with Mare at Pare is a highly watched open debate show in the Philippines. It is aired every late night Thursdays on GMA Network. It is hosted by Pareng Oscar Orbos and Mareng Winnie Monsod. The program has been awarded by the Philippine Movie Press Club as best public affairs program and best talk show by the Catholic Mass Media Awards. Debate is the first of its kind in the country, combining information and entertainment in discussing various issues. The hosts act as moderators of the debate. Debate pioneered the use of highly computerized televoting system, wherein televiewers cast their votes on the featured issue. These include SMS, internet voting, and telephone voting. From 1998 to 2000, pagers were used when SMS were not yet in the market, Debate first aired on November 18, 1998.
